Tale of Sun and Moon

太陽と月の物語

Somewhere, someplace, there was a Dog.

One day, he went out with friends

and met one white Cat.

Dog fell in love with her since the first sight.

Cat also started to like Dog after she talked to him.

They began the history of own soon.

They were happy. They loved each other.

Every time Dog saw Cat, he smiled at her.

Every time Cat saw Dog, she smiled at him.

They went many places together.

At the mountain, they were holding hands as they walked,

At the beach, they were watching same sight as they laid down.

They enjoyed their time,

even sometimes they had fights.

However, there were problems.

Whenever Dog talked to Cat, it hurt the ears of Cat.

Whenever Cat hugged Dog, it hurt the body of Dog.

Dog’s bark was too loud for Cat.

Cat’s nails were too sharp for Dog.

Both of them knew the problems.

Both of them knew they hurt each other.

However, they couldn’t leave because they trusted,

“It will be OK. We will have only happy time later.”

One day, when Dog spoke, he was surprised.

Because he saw Cat’s ears were bleeding.

Cat said, “It’ll be cured,”

tried to hug Dog to comfort,

and she was surprised.

Because she saw bleeding scars on Dog’s body.

They realized that they could not be together.

They realized that they were not same kinds.

Then, they decided to separate each other.

Because Dog cannot be a cat which doesn’t bark.

Because Cat cannot be a dog which doesn’t have sharp nails

They didn’t have any choices.

They cried and left each other.

One day, Cat was walking on the street.

The car was driven too first, and it hit her.

She felt strong pain

but she still could have sights.

She saw the sun in the sky by her closing eyes.

And she smiled,

as she always did when she saw the dog named Sun.

A few years later, there is a white lady dog next to Dog.

He lives a happy life and sometimes thinks about Cat.

When he sees the scars,

he remembers the smiles of Cat.

When he sees the moon,

he imagines how the cat named Moon is now.

Cat’s smiles in his memories seem very happy as always.

Cat can smile in his memories.

Dog’s imagination of Cat is beautiful and strong.

Cat can get old in his imagination.

Moon could be alive, in the heart of Sun.

Forever and ever.

あるところに一匹の犬がいました。

ある日、彼は友達と遊びに行き、

そして一匹の白猫と会いました。

犬は人目で白猫に恋をし、

猫も話すうちに犬のことを好きになりました。

二匹はすぐ自分たちの歴史をはじめました。

二匹は幸せでした。二匹は愛し合っていたのです。

犬は猫と会うといつも微笑み、

猫も犬に会うといつも微笑んでいました。

二匹で色々なところに行きました。

山では、手を繋いで歩き、

海辺では、寝転がって同じ景色を見ました。

喧嘩をすることがあっても,

二匹は一緒にいる時間を楽しんでいました。

しかし、二人の間には問題がありました。

犬が猫に話しかけるといつも、猫の耳が痛みました。

猫が犬を抱きしめるといつも、犬の体は傷つきました。

犬の鳴き声は猫には大きすぎ、

猫の爪は犬には鋭すぎたのです。

犬も猫も、このことを知っていました。

犬も猫も、お互いを傷つけ合っていると分かっていました。

それでも、彼らは離れませんでした。

「いつか幸せな時間だけ持てるようになる」と信じていたから。

ある日、犬は猫に話しかけ、びっくりしました。

猫の耳から血が出ていたからです。

猫は「すぐ治るから」といって

犬を慰めるため、抱きしめようとしました。

そして、びっくりしました。

犬の体に出血する傷がいくつもあったからです。

二匹は自分たちは一緒にいられないのだと気づきました。

自分たちは違う種族なのだと気づきました。

そして、違う道を歩いていくことを決めたのです。

犬は、吠えない猫にはなれないから。

猫は、鋭い爪のない犬にはなれないから。

二匹には、他に道がありませんでした。

二匹は泣いてお別れをしました。

ある日、猫が道を歩いていると、

とても早い速度で車が走ってきて、猫をはねました。

猫は強い痛みを感じましたが、

それでもまだ目は見えていました。

閉じていく目で、猫は空の太陽を見ました。

そして、猫は微笑みました。

太陽と言う名の犬に会ったときいつもしていたように。

数年後、犬の側には白いメス犬がいました。

犬は幸せな人生を送り、そして時々猫のことを思いました。

犬は傷跡を見るたびに、

猫の微笑みを思い出し、

月を見るたびに、

月と言う名の猫が今どうしているのか想像しました。

犬の記憶の中の猫の微笑みはいつもの様にとても幸せそうでした。

猫は、犬の記憶の中で微笑むことができるのです。

犬の想像の中の猫は強く美しい姿でした。

猫は、犬の想像の中で歳をとることが出来るのです。

月は太陽の心の中で、生きていました。

ずっとずっと、永遠に。

う〜ん…なんかお先真っ暗な話になってしまった。。。
もう少し幸せな結末にすればよかったかな。
